The Begum attended the 2009 annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Her Highness took part in a number of sessions and workshops on poverty eradication, global educational initiatives and interfaith dialogue.

The Begum actively advocates microfinance as a proven tool to not only encourage the poorest families to lift themselve out of extreme poverty but also to empower women and deliver basic health education. She also reported on recent successes in microfinance achieved by the Princess Inaara Foundation.
